From the moment I walked through the front door of Woodland Elementary School in Morristown, NJ, I felt such a warm and welcoming vibe from every single person I encountered. Their beautiful campus is tucked away in the back roads of a quiet Morristown neighborhood.
I had the greatest pleasure of presenting my #PullYourWeeds® SEL Program to their entire school of over 300 incredible students.
This seed was planted last school year when Woodland's School Counselor, Megan Stonebrink, inquired about in-person SEL programs and assemblies for their school Principal, Ms. Katina Thelemaque.
Walking away from the experience I feel confident that each and every student at Woodland School knows how important it is to identify stress and negative emotions. They know the trusted sources they can talk to to help them communicate how they are feeling and they know some helpful and positive 'tools' they can use to help manage their emotions. It's all about turning 'Weeds into Seeds'!
Thank you Woodland School for spreading some seeds and helping to raise a new generation of emotionally empowered kids!
